Viables Receives Grant to Upgrade Centre IT Capabilities
Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council has awarded the Community Association up to £75,000 from the Local Infrastructure Fund (LIF) towards upgrading the IT systems and services at the centre.

The project includes:

  • Improving internet access capability and reliability
  • Installing a Wireless Network throughout the Centre for the benefit of those using the facility
  • Installation of Audio-Visual systems in The Barn (Main Hall) and Conference Room enabling these venues to be used more effectively for events like training courses, presentations and business meetings

We will also be reviewing office operations and systems to see if there is an opportunity to streamline processes including venue bookings, payments and financial management.

Our hope is that these changes will make the centre attractive to a wider range of clubs, community organisations and local businesses as well as serving our existing users better.

The first phase of the project, currently underway, is to gather information from potential vendors and service providers and to plan the implementation (phase 2).
