You may have noticed that Viables Community Association has developed a great deal in the last few years – there is now a full programme of regular activities for a wide range of people in our community. In order to develop further, we often need more volunteers in a variety of contexts.  We are currently looking for the following voluntary support:

• Magazine Delivery support - we really need some help with delivering our quarterly magazines in both the Viables and Eastrop areas. Most rounds contain between 50 and 100 magazines and will give you the opportunity to get your steps in and enjoy some fresh air. If you are able to help we would REALLY appreciate it. So if you can spare us an hour of your time,. just four times a year, please contact office@viables.org.uk to register your support.
• Messy Play Support - we need someone who will be willing to help support another volunteer in setting up the trays with various resources, clean trays throughly between sessions and ensure all resources are safely disposed of or put away at the end of sessions. This is a very physical role with quite a lot of bending about and requires the person to be able to communicate well with the public, as well as feel able to handle resources of different tactile qualities.

• Memory Club Support - we need volunteers to help out with our Memory Club.  This meets every Thursday and Friday and supports people who are in varying stages of dementia.  If you have an activity e.g craft, music, exercise, indoor gardening, anything that you think the members could enjoy, then we would be so pleased to talk to you about perhaps offering an hour or two 3 times a year to expand the range of activities on offer.  We are also looking for people who might like to be general volunteers with the Memory Club, helping out on a Thursday or Friday – it does not have to be every week, even just one Friday morning a month would be great – full support and training given.

• Tiny Town assistant - We are looking for someone who would like to help with the setting up, packing away and general running of Tiny Town - our newest children's play session. Tiny Town is a small play village with role play zones designed for children's social interaction, language enrichment, commnication development and to establish a good understanding of the world around them. This takes place on a Monday at present and tends to be term-time only.

• Indoor Boot Sales - these occur once a month and we would love someo help with setting up and packing away tables and serving refreshments.

• Open Mic Nights - when these run at Viables, we need some support to run the bar. If you are able to help, we would love to hear from you.

• Quiz nights - if anyone is keen on putting together quizzes, we would love to hear from you so that we can provide more of these popular events.
